Rebecca ‘Becca’ Wong focuses her practice on Family Law and Wills. Becca was raised in Richfield, Minnesota and attended college at St. Cloud State University, graduating in 1976 with a B.S. in Interdisciplinary Stdies and emphases in political science and business. She attended William Mitchell College of Law and graduated, cum laude, in 1988.
Becca began her legal career in private practice as a Family Law attorney, also preparing Wills. After seven years in private practice, Becca took an in-house position at West Publishing, now known as Thomson Reuters. At West, she trained private attorneys on computer-assisted legal research. Becca moved on to acquisition, licensing, and development of legal materials, and ended her career at West as the manager of jurisdictional new product development for the western United States.
In June 2002, Becca returned to private practice with Capistrant & Associates, P.A., focusing on Family Law and Wills. In 2009, Becca became a partner in the firm, which was then renamed Capistrant & Wong, P.A.. She enjoys working one-on-one or in teams with clients, opposing counsel, experts and the court system to reach resolution of Family Law issues. Becca uses collaborative, cooperative or traditional litigation methods, depending on the client’s needs.
Becca believes each client and each matter are different. She offers a variety of processes and options to personalize the handling of your family law matters and tailor it to your family's specific needs. Becca uses Cooperative Practice, Collaborative Practice or traditional litigation methods, and can help you understand and choose the best process for you. Becca also provides services as a Rule 114 qualified mediator for all family law areas and as a Social Early Neutral Evaluator for matters involving children.
Once a family matter is completed, it often makes sense for the client to update his or her Will. Becca also provides this service, along with Powers of Attorney and Health Care Directives.
